I'm sharing my own story to kick off this blog series.
I am David.The owner of betterlovedoll.com. The inception of Betterlovedoll was born out of a failed marriage experience. In 2017, I ended a four-year marriage with my wife, tired of endless arguments, complaints, and a passionless life.
The emotional trauma of my marriage left me reluctant to invest time in relationships, and, importantly, I wanted to ensure that I didn't cause harm to anyone due to relationship issues. Fear and hesitation made it difficult for me to contemplate a fresh start.
However, during my prolonged period of solitude, I felt lonely. I yearned for companionship and the occasional intimacy (though not frequently). Love dolls came into my view, and out of curiosity, I began to browse and learn about them. Soon, I realized that this might be what I wanted. I wanted to have a doll. She could accompany me, not complain, and had no sexual risks.
I began to buy dolls online. It was a fantastic experience, even though I was in China, the world's largest doll production base, and getting an affordable and high-quality doll was challenging.
At first, I couldn't differentiate the quality of dolls sold by different manufacturers. I encountered low-cost, subpar dolls, expensive but underwhelming options, and occasionally, dolls that exceeded expectations, both in quality and affordability. It was a learning curve of accumulating experiences. As time passed, my immersion in the doll industry led me to work within it. I began working for a doll company. I must say, working in the industry brought me convenience, and sometimes I had the opportunity to get free dolls.
In 2021, I considered myself an expert in the doll industry. I wanted to do something more challenging, and, of course, another significant reason was that I saw the potential and profit in the doll market. I wanted to create my own website. I had enough confidence to choose the right dolls for my customers and provide them with good service.
In 2022, bettersexdoll.com was born. It is a website aimed at selling the most cost-effective dolls. I listed many lesser-known but good-quality doll brands. The business was doing well, but soon, I faced a significant challenge due to the "Childlike Doll Act" and payment providers cracking down on the adult doll industry. I decided to upgrade my website.
I reflected on many aspects: customer service, user experience, doll brands and quality, and the message my website wanted to convey. In the end, I rebuilt betterlovedoll.com. Now, the dolls on the website are from the most renowned brands, and I personally engage in customer service. I know how much time, money, and effort it takes to buy a doll, and we must not let these efforts go to waste.
Love dolls are not just sexual toys; they play different roles in the lives of different owners. For some, they are a special companion and a way to release emotions. Therefore, I don't want to be a purely profit-driven businessman. I also want to maintain the original intention of helping more people find the right love doll.
