Is the Climax ULW Series Worth Buying? We Visited the Factory to Find Out

Since Climax introduced the ULW Series, its “ultra-lightweight” and “ultra-soft” design has attracted the most attention.

For users who prefer silicone dolls, both features are certainly appealing. Traditional silicone dolls may offer excellent visual realism, but their weight and relatively firm feel are often among the most practical concerns during everyday use. At the same time, many users may also wonder whether making a doll lighter and softer will noticeably reduce its realism.

To better understand how the ULW Series performs in real use, we visited the Climax factory and personally experienced both a ULW full-body doll and a ULW torso. We compared them with an Ultra Series full-body doll and a similarly sized TPE torso.

After handling, lifting, and closely examining each product, we found that although the ULW full-body doll and ULW torso follow the same lightweight design approach, the advantages they offer are not exactly the same.

For the full-body doll, the most noticeable benefits of ULW are its reduced weight and softer body. Its level of realism is slightly lower than that of the Ultra Series, but the overall difference is not significant. For the ULW torso, the softness is already comparable to that of TPE while maintaining the advantages of a lightweight structure. Its visual details and overall realism are also particularly impressive.

So, who is the Climax ULW Series best suited for? And how should users choose between ULW, Ultra, and TPE products? Below, we will break down the differences based on our first-hand factory experience.

ULW Full-Body Dolls: Does Lightweight Design Come at the Cost of Realism?

During our full-body doll comparison, we tested three models: ULW Series 156F, Ultra Series 163, and Ultra Series 161, to find out whether the ULW Series sacrifices overall realism in order to achieve a lighter weight.

From an overall perspective, the biggest differences between these three models are not in craftsmanship, but in their design concepts.

The ULW Series 156F features a more anime-inspired style, with a younger-looking body proportion. In comparison, the Ultra Series 163 is closer to a realistic human figure, with more restrained and natural body curves. The Ultra Series 161, as a BBW model, features a fuller and more exaggerated body shape, creating a much stronger visual impact.

If we compare realism alone, we believe the Ultra Series still has a slight advantage. However, this difference is mainly reflected in the presentation of fine details rather than the overall level of craftsmanship.

For example, when examining the Ultra Series, we noticed that even in areas where Climax does not specifically highlight skin texture, subtle texturing can still be seen. These small details further enhance the overall realism of the body. In comparison, the ULW full-body doll appears smoother, and these subtle skin textures are not as noticeable.

 

However, this does not mean the ULW lacks detail. The body contours, including the collarbones, pubic area, lower abdomen, and leg lines, are still sculpted with natural definition. Key areas such as the nipples, joints, hands, feet, and lower body also feature detailed skin textures, maintaining the high level of craftsmanship that Climax is known for.

Our thoughts: The Ultra Series does achieve a higher level of realism, mainly due to more natural body sculpting and finer skin texture details. Meanwhile, the ULW Series focuses more on improving the overall user experience through lightweight design and enhanced softness while preserving most of the realistic details. For most users, unless the two models are carefully compared side by side, the difference in realism is actually quite subtle.

Softness: The Improvement Was More Noticeable Than We Expected

We also compared the softness of all three bodies.

Across the standard body areas, the **ULW Series** uses a thinner outer silicone layer with a lightweight inner core. As a result, pressing on the body doesn't just feel like firm silicone. Instead, it feels more like soft tissue beneath the skin, making the overall touch noticeably softer and more natural than the Ultra Series.

The **Ultra Series**, on the other hand, is primarily constructed from solid silicone. This gives the body a firmer feel with stronger overall support.

Both the ULW and Ultra Series feature gel-filled breasts and buttocks. The buttocks feel fairly similar between the two, but the breasts are where the difference becomes much more noticeable. Because the ULW has a thinner silicone layer over the gel, the gel is able to move more freely, creating a more pronounced "water-filled" sensation. The Ultra Series has a thicker silicone layer, so while it doesn't feel quite as soft as the ULW, it offers better elasticity and rebound.

Overall, the two bodies are designed with different priorities. The ULW Series offers a softer and more natural feel across the standard body areas, while its breasts provide a more pronounced water-filled sensation. The Ultra Series, on the other hand, feels firmer overall, with better elasticity and rebound.

Weight: The Difference Feels Even Greater Than We Expected

The biggest selling point of the ULW Series is its lightweight design. Before visiting the factory, however, we couldn't help but wonder: Would the difference in weight really be that noticeable during everyday use?

To find out, we tried lifting each body ourselves and simulated what it would be like to move them around in daily use.

We started with the ULW Series 156F. Although we already knew it was lighter than a traditional silicone doll, the hands-on experience still surprised us. We were able to pick it up and carry it naturally without much effort, making the entire experience feel far easier than we had expected.

Next, we attempted to lift the **Ultra Series 163**. Although the two bodies appear similar in size, the real-world experience couldn't have been more different. We tried several times but simply couldn't lift it, while moving the ULW Series 156F had been relatively easy. It wasn't until we experienced them side by side that we truly understood the biggest advantage of the ULW Series.

As for the heavier **Ultra Series 161**, we decided not to attempt lifting it. On the one hand, we wanted to avoid unnecessary handling that might damage the doll. On the other hand, after comparing the first two bodies, the weight advantage of the ULW Series had already become more than obvious.

Our thoughts: If you only reposition your doll occasionally, the difference in weight may not seem like a major factor. But for anyone who regularly moves their doll, takes photos, or handles it alone, that advantage quickly becomes much more noticeable. After this hands-on experience, we came away convinced that lightweight construction isn't just a marketing feature—it's an upgrade that genuinely makes day-to-day use easier.

ULW Torso

In addition to the full-body dolls, we also compared the **ULW Torso** with a **TPE torso**.

In terms of **softness**, the ULW Torso is already comparable to a TPE torso. However, the two feel quite different. The ULW retains the series' signature skin-over-soft-tissue feel, with different areas offering different levels of softness. A TPE torso, on the other hand, is made from the same material throughout, resulting in a more consistent feel across the entire body.

Besides the softness, we noticed another interesting detail. The **skin texture on the ULW Torso is actually more pronounced than on the ULW full-body doll**, giving it a level of detail that can even rival the Ultra Series. That was something we genuinely didn't expect.

Weight is another major advantage of the ULW Torso. During our hands-on test, we were able to lift even the heaviest ULW torso without much effort, making it easy to carry and reposition. Compared with traditional TPE or silicone torsos, the ULW Torso feels noticeably lighter. At the same time, a torso naturally requires less storage space than a full-body doll, making it a practical choice for users with limited room or anyone looking for a product that's easier to store between uses.

Overall, the ULW Torso ended up being one of the biggest surprises of our factory visit. For those who prefer torsos, or for anyone looking to experience a realistic doll for the first time through a torso, it's a product that's well worth considering.

Final Thoughts

After spending time at the Climax factory and comparing these products side by side, one thing became clear: each product is designed with a different priority in mind.

The Ultra Series delivers the highest level of skin texture and visual realism, making it the best choice for collectors who value appearance above all else.

The ULW Full-Body Series offers an impressive balance of realism, softness, and lightweight construction. While it gives up a small amount of realism compared to the Ultra Series, the improvement in handling makes it a very compelling alternative for everyday use.

The ULW Torso turned out to be the biggest surprise of our visit. Its combination of realistic skin texture, exceptional softness, and lightweight design created an experience that exceeded our expectations, making it one of the most impressive products we tested.

Meanwhile, the TPE Torso remains an excellent option for buyers on a tighter budget or those who simply prefer the classic feel of TPE. It offers outstanding softness, an approachable price point, and continues to be a solid choice for many collectors.

Ultimately, there isn't a single "best" option—only the one that best fits your priorities, whether that's realism, softness, weight, storage, or budget. We hope this hands-on factory visit and side-by-side comparison help you choose the product that's right for you.
